Melrose, Peebles and Selkirk Courts were built in the 1960’s on Belville Street, Greenock. The buildings are 17, 16 and 15 storeys high respectively and provided a total of 250 flats.
The three multi storey blocks are to be demolished in Spring of 2013. All three multi’s will be stripped of all fixtures and fittings and all asbestos containing materials. All of these materials will be completely removed from the site. Concrete walls inside the three blocks will then be drilled in preperation for demolition by the controlled use of explosives. The demolition (or blowdown) will take place in March with the resultant debris processed and recycled.
